Quats Disinfectants – What Nail Salons Should Know

Quats are common in salons but have some important limitations.

Quaternary Ammonium Compounds (Quats) are widely used disinfectants in salons. They are effective against many bacteria, viruses, and fungi, and they are usually gentle on metal tools.

However, Quats can become less effective when there is blood, dirt, or other organic matter present. Some newer formulas are improved, but the limitation still exists.

We choose disinfectants carefully and always follow the label instructions so they work as intended.
