Simple explanation of the three levels of cleanliness every nail salon should follow.
Most people think “clean” is enough. In a nail salon it is not.
Sanitation = cleaning well. Soap and water. Sweeping. Reducing germs to a safer level (around 99%).
Disinfection = using the right chemical the right way to kill 99.99% of salon germs on tools and surfaces.
Sterilization = killing every single germ. This needs a proper autoclave that is tested regularly.
Many salons stop at sanitation and call it disinfection. That is the gap. At our salon in Kilpauk we do all three levels correctly so you never have to wonder.
